ABOUT BRICKS: ORGANIZATION

For the strategic management, a BRICKS
Management Board
has been formed consisting of the director of CWI
(administrator) and the directors/deans of the
consortium members NWO, TUD, TU/e, UT, and UU.
The Management Board is presided by the director
of CWI. The director of the NWO Council of Physical
Sciences will act as vice-president.
For the operational management, a
Project Board
has been formed. The Project Board is also presided
by the director of CWI and has as members key
researchers also acting as a research project leader.
The BRICKS
Advisory Board
has been installed for advice at all levels, including
strategic management issues such as co-operations,
transfer of knowledge, anchoring for the future,
setting up new initiatives, etc.
The figure below shows the overall organization
of the BRICKS consortium.
At the lowest level (orange boxes) eleven research
projects are embedded in the NOAG-i themes
PDC, MSV, IS and AFM. Some of these research
projects consist out of several subprojects.
The open BRICKS/FOCUS program has resulted in ten
projects which are accommodated within the four
research themes. Within the BRICKS program as a
whole there are twenty two individual projects;
each with its own research questions.
